How to compare products when datasheets, certifications, standards, compliance documents, and supplier claims do not line up cleanly.
Back to Engineering FAQsTreat the conflict as unresolved until the supplier confirms which document controls for the product, revision, region, and use case. Do not mark the requirement as satisfied just because one document appears favorable.
Compare the exact standard name, revision year, certification body, certificate number if available, material or package applicability, region, expiration, and whether the claim applies to the product family or the exact orderable part.
Show the conflicting sources side by side, state the business or safety risk, list the supplier question needed to resolve it, and avoid using the product as approved until the compliance path is clear.
