Errata and App Notes
How engineers should handle errata, application notes, qualification reports, and supplemental documents when comparing technical products.
Back to Engineering FAQsErrata should be reviewed as part of the source package. It may limit a published feature, describe a workaround, or change whether a part is suitable for a specific use. The comparison should link the affected field to the errata note.
Application notes matter when performance depends on layout, external components, calibration, airflow, mounting, firmware settings, or operating mode. They may explain why the datasheet value is achievable only under a specific implementation.
Attach them to the comparison record by source type: datasheet, errata, application note, qualification report, drawing, model, or supplier response. Keep the main comparison table concise, but preserve the supporting evidence.
